“Healthier” Oatmeal Chocolate-Chip Raisin Cookies

Healthier Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

I was craving a treat last night and convinced myself that if I baked with whole wheat flour and oatmeal it would be healthy (right?). So I made some yummy Whole Wheat Oatmeal Raisin Chocolate Chip Cookies. Eating six probably negated the “healthy” attempt but they were just so delicious!

You’ll need:

  •  ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 sticks of softened butter (I am impatient so I microwave them for 1 minute)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
  • ¾ cup raisins
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips

To Make:

Cream together sugar and butter then stir in the remainder of ingredients. I know most cookie recipes specify specific orders for adding the rest of ingredients but I never follow them and my cookies always turn out just fine! Bake at 350 degrees for 9-11 minutes (10 minutes was the sweet spot in our oven).

I think you are supposed to recommend letting them cool but I shoved one into my mouth right away and hardly burned my tongue at all. Good luck not eating six!
